Hair Care Evaluation Results

Sulfate Based Shampoo Formulation

Dow Corning® 5-7113 Silicone Quat Microemulsion and Dow Corning® CE-8411 Smooth Plus Emulsion were respectively added to sulfate based shampoo formulations using the following variations of silicone actives content:

a)       2% active silicone content by weight – comprised of 50% silicone active from Dow Corning® 5-7113 Silicone Quat Microemulsion and 50% total silicone active from Dow Corning® CE-8411 Smooth Plus Emulsion.

b)      2% active silicone content by weight – comprised on 100% total silicone active from Dow Corning® 5-7113 Silicone Quat Microemulsion.

c)      2% active silicone content by weight – comprised of 100% total silicone active from Dow Corning® CE-8411 Smooth Plus Emulsion.

For comparison purposes, a commercial shampoo formulation without silicone (control) was also evaluated. The conditioning shampoo formulations are shown below.
