Disclosed is a method and system for creating a dynamic hashtag, wherein the dynamic hashtag includes one or more dynamic parameters or variables in order to target a specific group of audience.

The method and system creates the dynamic hashtag by assigning one or more dynamic parameters or variables to a hashtag for targeting a specific group of audience.  Examples of dynamic parameters or variables can include, but need not be limited to, location, race, age, gender or language.  The dynamic parameters or variables define a specific group of audience.

Table 1 shows a list of dynamic parameters or variables for creating a dynamic hashtag.

In one implementation, the method and system converts a static hashtag to a dynamic hashtag.  For example, the method and system converts a static hashtag such as #yardsale into a dynamic hashtag such as #yardsale (current location, 2 miles).  The dynamic hashtag is assigned one or more dynamic parameters or variables namely ‘current location’ and ‘2 miles’.  Thus, the dynamic hashtag specifically targets audience within 2 miles of the current location of a blog composer.  Further, the method and system can use GPS to standardize the current location of the...
