A method is disclosed for detecting spam mails based on user actions and social context. The method includes monitoring user behavior across one or more internet connected devices of the user. The user behavior is evaluated by examining one or more actions of a user towards one or more advertisements that are displayed on the one or more internet connected devices and one or more brands favored by the user upon evaluating a social network profile of the user.

Disclosed is a method for detecting spam mails based on user actions and social context. The method includes monitoring user behavior across one or more internet connected devices of the user. The user behavior is evaluated by examining one or more actions of a user towards one or more advertisements that are displayed on the one or more internet connected devices and one or more brands favored by the user upon evaluating a social network profile of the user.

In accordance with the method, a plugin is installed on the one or more internet connected devices of the user. The plugin is configured to monitor one or more actions of the user on the one or more internet connected devices of the user . The one or more internet connected devices of the user may include one or more of , but not limited to, a desktop, a laptop, a mobile phone, a watch, and a television. The one or more actions of the user may include one or more of , but not limited to, muting an advertisement on a browser, closing a window of an advertisement displayed on a browser, unsubscribing from a mailing list, removing cookies from a website/domain, blacklisting a website on a web browser, muting a channel/advertisement when the channel/advertisement is being displayed on a television and following a person/company or a product on a social network site.
