Abstract

With many devices plugged to powerstrip it is very hard to identify which cable belongs to particular device. It takes a lot of time to identify and unplug particular device. Nowadays most of cables are hidden in walls/pipes so it is almost impossible to track the cable from source to target. Currently you can find colored slot on powerstrip but it is not connected to end device. From end device perspective you still do not know which plug should/can be unplugged from powerstrip.

Dynamic powerstrip color light generation matching front panel light color of plugged device

The core idea is to automatically generate the same and unique color light/led for powerstrip slot and end device's front panel. Thanks to that one can easily identify which plug in powerstrip belongs to particular device. The power strip from the pool of x colors automatically generates/assigns color for newly plugged device. The same color is displayed on device's front panel (button light or any other led indicator). The color information is passed from powerstrip to end device through cable using high frequency module (see figure 1).
