Abstract

A method and system is disclosed for automatically providing contact details of a user to a provider when the user desires to claim an offer sent by the provider.

Description

Disclosed is a method and system for automatically providing contact details of a user to a provider in response to detecting an intention of a user to claim an offer sent by the provider.

 

The method and system includes displaying the offer on a user interface such as on a screen of one of, but not limited to, a computer, a mobile phone and, a smart phone.  The method and system further displays a link corresponding to the offer on the user interface.  A tag for enabling capture of contact details of the user is associated with the link displayed on the user interface.  For instance, in a mobile device supporting Android* Operating System, the tag associated with the link is as follows:

In another instance, wherein the link is displayed in a web browser of the mobile, the tag associated with the link is as follows:

The method and system further includes, recognizing intention of the user to claim the offer by identifying a selection of the link corresponding to the offer, displayed on the user interface. 

Thereafter, the method and system automatically captures contact details of the user, in response to detecting selection of the link.  The contact details that are captured can include one or more of, but is not limited to, a phone number, and an email address.  In an embodiment, a worldwide web consortium (w3c) scheme such as smsto, and mailto, is used for capturing contact details of the user.  In another embodiment selection of the link results in an Application Programming Interface (API) call for registering contact details of the user.

The method and system subsequently triggers opening of a pre-populated message containing captured contact details of the user.  The pre-populated message can also contain an identifier for the offer.  The pre-populated message can be, but is not limited to, a pre-populated Short Message Service (SMS), and a pre-populated email.
