Abstract

Present disclosure relates to the field of front end equipment which is an attachment used on the combine harvesters. More specifically it is related to row unit of variable row spacing corn header. This disclosure is proposing grouping of two row units. An object of the disclosure is to provide a corn harvesting attachment which can harvest stalks independently of rows and pick the corn cobs. Present disclosure comprising of tine wheels, cutter and gathering chains. This row unit helps in harvesting corn crop irrespective of the row spacing between the adjacent rows. As per this mechanism only one gathering chain is required for each row of the corn.

Description:

The components of the gearbox were redesigned and some of them eliminated to ensure efficient working and reducing the spacing between two adjacent pair of stalk rolls.

This discloser comprises cutting mechanism and tine wheel at the front. The cutter and tine wheel are in same plane and powered to the cutter has been transferred by mechanical means. The device has a cutter rotating at low rpm with shear blade which cuts the plant near to the ground; simultaneously the tine wheel supports and pushes the plant, upright into the row unit.
