Change management processing data is stored in dissimilar locations, requiring a manual process for execution management. As a result, change process is not easily repeatable and requires extremely experienced users to manage it. Without a repeatable process, teams who deliver a complex change must start from nothing almost every time. This consumes a significant amount of time to prepare for the change. In addition, other than documentation and audit artifacts to support compliance, the actual change process execution is thrown away upon change completion. Traditional change management tool sets track changes that are occurring in the environment, but do not track or manage the change execution process itself.

No known tool set solutions can manage change process execution. Change process execution is manually managed with service procedures, project plans, and spreadsheets. A solution is needed that provides a system and method to manage a Process Change Workflow.

The novel solution is a System Method for Process Change Workflow. The system addresses disparate change data storage challenges and provides a mechanism that allows repeatable change execution for similar opportunities. This tool enables companies to provide timely updates in a real-time fashion to both internal teams and external customers.

Utilizing this tool set for complex change offers many capabilities not previously possible. Compared to a manual approach, one capability differentiator is a way to manage a complete end-to-end change testing process before the change occurs (often component testing is completed, or even a dress rehearsal- this does not always account for issues that may be encountered when components are put together). This approach provides the delivery of complete change process execution audit logs for compliancy reviews. The repeatable change execution process allows faster change preparation for future opportunities. The centrally located approach bundles all related change documentation, which supports accountability. The tool set includes a mechanism to not only create and manage the change process but also the generation and management of the back-out process; a way to manage change as well as a dashboard to show insight during the change (for executive views). This is an easier way to coordinate change during execution, regardless of geographical location. It helps reveal additional areas where automation can provide value later.
