    Techniques are presented herein to display a current local time against names of attendees or participants in a communication session, such as an online conference session, a Telepresence meeting, a (voice, text or video) chat session or a short messaging system (SMS) text session.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION

    Communication tools such as Cisco's WebEx┬« conference service and Telepresence service, are used by people from different parts of the world. When participating in a meeting, it is easy to forget that various participants may be in different time zones around the world.

    Accordingly, a scheme is presented herein to display the "current local time" as well as location information next to each attendee's name in an online or telepresence conference session, or in a voice/video/text chat (e.g., Cisco Jabber) window session. This may also be used in short messaging system (SMS) for text-based sessions between cellular phone (Smartphone) users.
