TIRE ROTATION ADVISORY SYSTEM BASED ON ACCULATIVE TIRE USAGE MATRICES

Current practice of distance based rotation has its value in terms of ease of practice. However, the recommendation (ex: every 3000 miles) generally comes experience and field data and tries to strike a balance such most people's usage are covered (ex: 95%).

However, driving distance is not the only main factors impacting the need of a tire rotation to mitigate uneven wear and tear these tires experienced. We propose a method aims at acquiring driving usage / content information in a compact form, correlate with maintenance data from service centers / dealerships to generate necessary customized rotation reminders that match driving usage / content patterns.

Proposed Method / Solution (Cloud / Crowd Information Enhanced Analytics for Customized Tire Rotation Advices)

To tackle this problem, we propose to evaluate tire usage patterns in a more through and holistic fashion. This can be achieved with the readily available in-vehicle sensors and modifications made to known formulations of exponential / low pass filters to establish a high dimensional distrution. Such information, a summary of driving usage / content patters are to be transmitted to a centralized server.
