Abstract:

A method for recording, extracting and visualizing generator variables is disclosed.

Background:

Understanding power supply dynamics can be a difficult task when information is supplied at a very low data rate or when the only data available is what can be measured outside the box. Because of this a high speed data collection and extraction method has been invented.

Summary of the Invention:

This invention allows the user to record data in the power supply at a high data rate. Data can be what is obvious outside the box, for example RF Frequency or Forward Power, or DC Voltage and Current. Data can also consist of information only available inside the box, like power dissipation or power control loop variables.

Example Embodiment

In this embodiment a web page is used to allow the user to choose which data they want to collect, how much data to collect and the collection interval. This web page also allows the user to choose how to trigger the collection process. After the data is collected a link is provided that allows the user to download a data file to their PC for off-line analysis.

This plot shows the results of the data collected using the setup above. Even at 500us per division many data points can be observed, illustrating the high speed nature of the data.
