An Intelligent Brace System For Monitoring A Patient's Activity

Disclosed is an Intelligent Brace System (IBS) for monitoring a patient's activity. The IBS enables a medical professional to upload a treatment plan for a patient on a brace of the patient. The IBS monitors the patient's progress and sends alerts and notifications to the patient and the medical professional. Additionally, the IBS analyzes activity data such as past activity data and current activity data of the patient and recommends a modified treatment plan to the medical professional. Further, the IBS predicts an outcome of the treatment plan and provides the outcome to the medical professional. The IBS is able to inform the patient about a recommended exercise associated with the treatment plan.

The IBS includes orthopedic brace sensors to monitor the patient's activity. The IBS also includes treatment processors to receive patient data from the medical professional and then provide an appropriate treatment schedule and alerts to the brace. Additionally, the IBS includes a client user interface for enabling the medical professional to access the activity data of the patient. The client user interface is accessible through a computer or a mobile device using a web browser or an application. A progress report of the patient is generated based on one or more of, but not limited to, the activity data and the treatment plan and then provided to the patient through an email or a text message. The IBS also includes an analytics engine for analyzing patient and activity data and recommending the treatment plan and the modified treatment plan to the medical professional. Here, the treatment plan and the modified treatment plan are recommended based on the patient data and activity data respectively.
