Technique for Dynamically and remotely creating and updating Database Source Names (DSN) and Database Users from with-in Applications

Problem Statement -

- Currently it is not feasible to create or update Data Source Name (DSN) from Thick and Thin Clients from applications like DataStage, its parts like IMAM, IA and same is true with various other Analytic Applications. User has to access the machine where application deployed to create or update these entries.

- It is difficult and time consuming for end users to goto the corresponding machines and edit them and create dsn with detailed information. Even users operating the applications do not have direct access to these machines for security reasons and access them only from the clients. User rely upon Administrators to perform these activities. Further in case some entries in the DSN creation were wrong need to keep his execution cycle on hold until Administrators change the entries. Editing these entries multiple times will increase the unintended manipulations of other dsn entries created by other users which can lead their jobs failures.

- It is not time consuming and required to access multiple consoles for Data Steward or Data Scientist who try to perform certain operations and need to create required connections or users to perform those activities. We can't expect them to access machine where application is actually deployed and perform those activities as they perform these activities from thin clients and many times from their hand held devices.

Proposed solution -

Provide a mechanism with-in Information Server Thick and thin Clients (Designer, IMAM, IA, FT, DC) to update the required configuration file creating DSN remote...
