Method and System for Facilitating Attendance of a User in Multiple Simultaneous Conference Calls

Typically, a user is required to attend a significant number of conference calls. As

calls are scheduled in overlapping time zones, there can be times when multiple calls are scheduled at the same time. Clearly a user can only attend one call via the user's telephony system. The user can only pick and choose a conference call or a meeting that the user believes to be of top priority. Currently, the user can mitigate the user's absence from a call or meeting by reading meeting minutes. Thereafter, the user can infer threads of a discussion, as user can read a slide deck thereby inferring salient points of the content. In the case of a lecture or webinar style meeting, there can be a full transcript of a meeting. In the case of the latter, the user may listen to a recording of the lecture style meeting in order to catch up. However, for a meeting where discussion is back and forth and requires input from the user that is not present, the user needs to be aware in real-time of the important points of a meeting.

Disclosed is a method and system for facilitating effective attendance of a user in multiple simultaneous conference calls. As the user can attend only a single call, an agent is used to actively listen to additional conference calls in parallel. The agent transcribes content of the conference calls which the user is unable to attend in person, into a text transcript. The transcript text can be highlighted in different colors depending on some of characteristics of a speaker. The characteristics of the speaker include one or more of, but are not limited to, organizational rank, relationship to the user and role in call. Alerts are triggered when specific words or

phrases indicate a topic of interest. In case, the user is required to enter a response on a call the user is not currently attending, the user can enter a response via text.

A text-to-speech system feeds the response into the call on behalf of the user. If the need for the personal presence of the user on a different call is sensed, the user can switch to that call. Thereafter, the system immediately starts monitoring the call

which the user leaves.

Further, the system provides visual cues an...
