Method and System for Setting a Ring Profile for a Mobile Device

Disclosed is a method and system for setting a ring profile for a mobile device of a user.

In an embodiment, the method includes detecting the mobile device of the user in an area such as, an office premise, a conference room and so forth. The method further includes pairing the mobile device with the system, wherein the pairing is

established via a network connection such as, but not limited to, Bluetooth*, Wi-Fi**, and Near Field Communications (NFC). Thereafter, the method includes determining a ring profile for the user. This could include identifying details corresponding to the user, such as, but not limited to, organization, division, band, and position from a database such as, Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) or Human Resource (HR) records. The system can automatically determine the ring profile for the user's mobile device based on the details retrieved.

In an embodiment, the method and system enables a user such as, but not limited to, a system administrator, a building administrator and a call moderator to configuring the ring profile rules. For instance, an administrator could specify ring profile rules for one or more of, but not limited to, conference rooms, bay areas, and important cabins.
