Disclosed is a method and system for monitoring work in progress (WIP) using a real time database. The disclosed method and system monitors WIP more efficiently by creating real time and customizable central database that continuously gets updated and provide real time WIP data. The centralized database is continuously updated by web pages that continuously monitor one or more on-going activities in a process. Web pages utilize a management system which monitors the one or more on-going activity of the process.

In accordance with the method and system, the web page records information related to each on-going activity in process. Thereafter, all the recorded information in the web page is continuously synchronized with the information related to the corresponding activity stored in the centralized database. The webpage also provides a customized option that allows extracting most relevant information related to the on-going activity. The synchronized and updated information in the centralized database thus provides the real time information of the on-going activity during any time of the day.

The web page also includes an interactive element that provides features such as but not limited to, extracting required information, add/read comments, and ability to add information directly into the centralized database.
