Abstract

The present invention discloses a technique in which accessory module provides hydraulic isolation to gas valves and inlet guide vane (IGV). Such hydraulic isolation to gas valves and IGV are lockout/tagout (LOTO) while a gas turbine is on turning gear. The technique also provides double valve isolation with bleed off.

BACKGROUND

The present invention relates generally to a gas turbine, and more particularly to a technique for providing isolation of gas valves and inlet guide vane (IGV) in gas turbines.

Generally, several aftermaths occur when a customer replaces a servo or an actuator associated with gas valves and inlet guide vane (IGV). For example, gas turbine is forced cooled or cranked for many hours to reduce wheel-space temperature, gas turbine leaves turning gear, gas turbine goes back on the turning gear before allowing itself available for service. A lot of time is lost per event. Such loss occurs many times a year per gas turbine, resulting into substantial loss of availability. However, it is not possible to isolate hydraulics to either gas valves or IGV while gas turbine is on turning gear.

Therefore, there is a need in the art for a technique to provide hydraulic isolation to gas valves and IGV.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION

The present invention discloses a technique in which accessory module provides hydraulic isolation to gas valves and inlet guide vane (IGV). Such hydraulic isolation to gas valves and IGV can be used for lockout/tagout (LOTO) while a gas turbine is on turning gear. The technique primarily includes using double valve isolation with bleed off.
