Abstract

In a managed file transfer environment, when the files are transferred between different transfer node, the relations of those files was cut off once the transfer process is completed. Users probably would change the file name or location as per business or administration justification, which makes it even harder to track the file transfer context. The method proposed helps to track the file transfer context information by leveraging the unique indicator of file itself.

Problems

In a managed file transfer environment, when the files are transferred between different transfer node, the relations of those files was cut off once the transfer process is completed. Users probably would change the file name or location as per business or administration requirements after transferring to local, but one day they just need to recall when/where/how these files were transferred. In a managed file transfer scenario, once files are transferred from a resource node server to another destination node server, users especially admin probably will change file name or file location due to particular business or administration justification at the destination node server. A long period of time has passed, there is no way or an easy way to figure out whether this file is just a file created locally or retrieved from a node server.
