During screen sharing session , host may share some document which includes some embedded document links and viewers usually want to directly click the links to open the document as needed. But currently, there is no easy method to realize this functionality. Viewer has to get and open the shared document in his or her local machine and then get the needed embedded link to open.

So in this disclosure we try to design a method to let the viewer directly open the embedded document without affecting host 's operation. This new idea would allow viewers to access linked document via clicking embedded links directly on host's shared screen instead of manually opening the document in his/her own machine. The idea is helpful for viewers to access any embedded documents as needed with his/her privilege and would greatly improve productivity.

Usually, a screen shared solution will contains two main components: Screen sharing source(host side) and Screen viewer(client side). The functionality of screen sharing source is capturing the screen of host desktop as a stream of image data, and transfer those data to screen viewer which will collect the image data from the stream and show them frame by frame.

In our idea, we embed two new components based on above two traditional ones, they are screen parser(embedded in host component) and doc link locator(embedded in client component). In host side, screen parser will parse the structure of shared document to get all the doc link information within that document. Not only how many doc links in that document, what position of each doc link, which path the doc link point to, but also the size of the screen, the position of the shared document, the location of the scroll bar in that document window and so on. All those information will be sent to client side along with the image stream, of cause, as a format of Xml.
