Abstract

The invention proposes a technique for mammography to reduce blur in an image. The technique includes an algorithm for time delay integration (TDI) sensor to remove blur in the image resulting from inconsistency between TDI sensing and scan movement. The technique further includes addition of motion meter which records motion parameters, such as time and position. Subsequently, motion parameters are utilized to correct blur of a raw image.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION

 

Motion jitter results in mismatch between sensor stage pixel and target for sensing. As a result, blur is introduced into an image. A design of a slot scan system, with current motor and mechanical technologies provides motion mismatch and in turn produces blur in the image.

A conventional technique includes an integrated circuit with a detection layer, a time delay integration capability, data acquisition electronics and a readout function to acquire image of breast in women

Another conventional technique includes a sensor and embodiments of multi channel integration circuit to acquire image in mammography.

However, the above mentioned conventional techniques do not provide solution to remove artifacts from the image.

Yet another conventional technique includes addition of external trigger to a time delay integration (TDI) sensor to synchronize staging with motion, which utilizes a motion meter to provide real-time accurate motion information. However, the conventional technique increases complexity of the TDI sensor and is expensive.

Therefore, there is a need for a technique to remove artifacts or blur from the image.
