Abstract

The disclosure aims to improve user interaction experience with mobile phone in one of the most natural and intuitive ways. We provide a method to use a big smart mobile phone with only a hand, which integrates a pressure sensor along left and right device edges. The innovative point is the driving method to activate GUI flowing.

Nowadays the smart mobile phones turn to be bigger and bigger, which's more and more difficult for us to use with only one hand. Because some system and app icons in the interface are out of our thumb reach, such as the first line of icons in the interface. Of course we can use both hands to work around this inconvenience, but it departs from the SMART oriented rules of smart phones. In some specific conditions people have only a hand available; for example, holding a baby in an arm, cooking and having dinner etc. The invention makes

all the icons in interface easier to reach, no matter it's in the corner or central of the smart phone interface, so one hand is enough whenever.

This invention provides a method to use a big smart mobile phone with only a hand, which integrates a pressure sensor along left and right device edges. When users hold a big smart phone with one hand and struggle to reach an GUI area, the pressure sensor will detect the pressure signal from both left and right sides; the thumb side can also be determined at this time. If the signal strength exceeds the predefined thresholds and the signal trend meets one of the predefined trends, the GUI will flow to the user's thumb side. Then when a screen touch is detected in the flowing interface, the GUI will revert back to the original state.

When users hold a big smart phone with one hand, some interface area is out of the thumb's reach.
