In any family, all users are using multiple devices. In this case, Multi-devices mean combination of one or more iPhone* + iPad* + Laptop + TV etc., and the current Configurations mean Available storage memory, processing memory, Display quality, Audio quality, Power available, any other hardware quality, unexpected heat generation on the device etc.

Following are some examples about the need

1. For some reason, there is a problem with sound system in a users TV, but the sound quality of a users iPhone is very good, so a user can view Images in TV and sound in iPhone, this identification of output device will be done automatically. Audio of the video will be transferred to the better quality speakers nearby.

2. A user is downloading one movie in a Laptop, but in the background user has executed one heavy database job, so less processing and storage memory is available, thus download will be started in iPad dynamically. So identification of output device will be identified automatically.

3. A user is downloading one big movie from internet into a laptop, while downloading the movie onto the laptop, the system found some problem in the laptop and thus unexpected heat is generated. So download will be transferred to another device.


4. Refrigerator display has been broken, thus the display will be shown in other devices.

Invention proposes a method and system by which

1. In any home network, every participating device will be ranked based on their current status of their configurations. Current status of the configuration will be identified based on real time analysis.

2. Software will sense an output and then dynamically switch output sources based on the above analysis.

3. The output sources would have to be determined based on previous pairing, and current availability/proximity.

Following diagram (Figure 1) talks about current quality assessment of the participating home network devices.


1. TV display quality is very good where as current Audio quality is Poor


2. Audio quality of Music System is Very good
