Abstract

The invention proposes a technique to hide patient prescription information in MRI systems from unauthorized personnel. The proposed technique provides a framework which allows different processes with individual user interfaces (UIs) to listen and hide or blur or display some foreground image the UI when user presses a button or presses a keyboard shortcut. This is achieved by providing a button on header or footer or both of MR system UI. A keyboard hotkey is also provided to achieve the same.

FIELD OF INVENTION

The invention generally relates to a magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) system and more particularly to a technique to hide patient prescription information in MRI systems.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

In general, magnetic resonance (MR) system user interface includes several user interface (UI) windows. The UI windows capture various kinds of patient prescription and image information. Some of the information displayed on UI windows are confidential while some are patient specific. There is a possibility that some unwanted personal peak on UI to see the confidential information. There is no technique to hide the confidential information on UI windows. The user requires to hide the screen in certain situations when somebody is trying to peak over the screen. As a result, MR software UI is prone to intended or unintended view.

A conventional technique stores personal identification information and associated records in a computer system. The personal identifiable information and associated records are stored separately and any link between the information and records are hidden. However, the technique is not related to MRI.


Hence there exists a need for an efficient technique to hide confidential information from unauthorized personnel in MRI system.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

The invention proposes a technique to hide patient prescription information in MRI systems from unauthorized personnel. The proposed technique provides a framework which allows different processes with individual user interfaces (UIs) to listen and hide or blur or display some foreground image in the UI when user presses a button or presses a keyboard shortcut. This is achieved by providing a button on header or footer or both in the MR system UI. A keyboard hotkey is also provided to achieve the same. The technique uses a simple desktop button and a system wide hotkey which provides the technique to fasten up in hiding UI.
