Generally, a flash*/video advertisement is being presented on a web page when a user navigates to a new page within a web browser tab. If the user navigates to the new page, then the flash/video advertisement is cut off when the new page opens . A new flash/video advertisement is displayed on the new page, but the effectiveness of the advertisement from the previous page is severely diminished as the advertisement is cut short. Further, a user experience is also reduced. When an advertisement is cut short, the potential of purchase of an item advertised in the advertisement is virtually eliminated.

Disclosed is a method and system for managing a flow of advertisements across web pages. The method and system enables users to review advertisements in entirety

when the users navigate to another page within a web browser tab. The method and system provides a mechanism to enable a seamless flow of advertisements across web pages. The mechanism includes a framework for advertisements to flow from one web page to another across navigation within the same web browser. In order for an advertisement to flow seamlessly, the web page to which a user is navigating needs to support advertisements. To support advertisements on a web page, the web page requires running advertisement server software.

Further, multiple formats of advertisements can flow seamlessly across web pages ,

wherein a format can be, but is not limited to, video, flash, audio and image. The video and flash advertisement continues to play in the new web page from where the advertisement was left off in the previous page. The method and system tracks position of the advertisement where the advertisement stopped playing in the previous page. Techniques used to begin the advertisement in the new page from where the advertisement was left off in the previous page vary based on the type of the advertisement. Further, if the continuation of an advertisement is being presented in a

web page and the user navigates to a third page before the presentation completes , the advertisement does not continue in the third page . A new advertisement can be started on the third page.
