Disclosed is a new feature on the Printed Circuit Board (PCB) design software and tools that allows the orientation of the layout view on the monitor to be adjusted to match the orientation of the PCB on the test bench.

The existing Printed Circuit Board (PCB) design software and tools have some features to view a PCB layout, such as "Flip Design", "Zoom In", and "Zoom Out". These are nice features but lack the ability to rotate the orientation of layout view on monitor to match the orientation of PCB board on a test bench.

In one existing solution, the orientation of the layout view on the monitor matches the orientation of the PCB on the test bench. (Figure 1) This is the best orientation for cross view between the layout view on the monitor and the PCB on the test bench.

In another existing solution, for better probe and test for the PCB on a test bench, the board is rotated 180 degrees. The orientation of the layout view on the monitor does not match the orientation of the PCB on the test bench. As the orientations are

reversed, a hardware designer has difficulty with the cross view between the layout views on the monitor and the PCB on the test bench.

In Figure 2, the PCB is rotated 180 degrees. The PCB can be rotated any number of degrees to the left or right for lab debugging and testing.
