Abstract

When inviting participants to a calendar event, one can see (if allowed), when the invitees have free time slots in their calendar. But, if an invitee already has another invitation which hasn’t been answered yet, there will be a conflict that is not apparent. Disclosed is an enhancement that shows unanswered invitations of invitees in the free time preview. In addition, if an invitee already has a calendar event at the desired time, it will show the number of invitees to that calendar event (which blocks the requested time), and whether they accepted or accepted tentatively. This enables one to rate which meeting is more important (e.g. an all-hands-meeting with hundreds of invitees might not be considered as important as a design meeting with few invitees).

Extended Blocked Information for Calendar

Field of Invention & Executive Summary

When inviting participants to a calendar event, one can see (if allowed), when the invitees have free time slots in their calendar. But, if an invitee already has another invitation which hasn't been answered yet, there will be a conflict that is not apparent.

Problem & Issue List

When inviting people, one can see (if allowed), when the invitees have free time slots in their calendar. But one does not get information on their unavailable / blocked time slots. For example if an invitee already has a calendar event which hasn't been answered yet, there will be a conflict that is not apparent. Also, if the invitee already has a calendar event, one can not rate how important it is.

Prior Art

One can see (if allowed), whether the invitees are available or not (see Fig.1).
