The label may be a care label, including washing instructions and material composition.

Labels in garments or other textiles may be annoying as they can be large, scratchy or unsightly e.g. shining through thin or light-coloured garments. There is a desire for some users of the garment or textile to be able to remove the labels in a user-friendly, self- explanatory way, usable on all garments or textiles without ruining the garment or textile and not leaving any unsightly and/or uncomfortable remains.

A number of constructions and methods have been suggested to remove such labels, such as attachment by a single chain stitch which can be unravelled, attachment by a ribbon which can be cut off, attachment by a thin thread which can be broken off or use of a perforated tear- off label. All of these solutions have draw-backs including difficulty of removal, need of scissors, hard edges remaining.

Gore has now come up with a label which is attached to a connecting band made of a soft, weak material. The connecting band is attached to the garment, textile or other substrate and is able to be torn off easily and quickly without damaging the garment, textile or other substrate and without leaving a hard, scratchy and/or otherwise uncomfortable rest on the garment or textile.
