Abstract

A method is disclosed for measuring productivity of a project in service delivery. An amount of work completed in the project with reduced number of employees working in the project is estimated. Additionally, productivity is measured by estimating completion of an amount of new work for a project where there is no corresponding increase in the number of employees working for the project.

A Method for Measuring Productivity in Service Delivery

Disclosed is a method for measuring productivity of a project in service delivery. An amount of work completed in the project with reduced number of employees working in the project is estimated. Additionally, productivity is measured by estimating completion of an amount of work for a project where there is no corresponding increase in the number of employees working for the project.

In accordance with the method, amount of work for a project in a pool is estimated. If there is a reduction in the number of employees working on the project, and there is no corresponding decrease in work scope, then a resource management professional is informed about the reduction of employees. The employee reduction is recorded in an internal database. Each instance is a single record in the internal database and includes one or more of, but not limited to, a delivery center information, date and reduction in productivity type. Each instance is validated using trusted sources like an employee information database. A monthly report of the measured productivity is sent to concerned individuals for evaluation.

Additionally, an amount of new work for a project that goes into a pool is estimated. The project does not have any corresponding increase in the number of employees working on the project.
