Disclosed is a method and system for intelligently selecting video preview thumbnails or key frames based on a hosting site context. The method and system provides site-specific key frames for video files that enable a single video to display different key frames depending on a site that stores the video or that is linked to the video.

Fig. 1 illustrates a block diagram for providing different thumbnails of the same video depending on the site context.

As shown in fig. 1, the context of site A is action and the context of site B is characters, therefore, different thumbnails for the same video are displayed on site A and site B.

Fig. 2 illustrates the flowchart of the method for providing different thumbnails of the same video, depending on site context and content of the video.
