Disclosed is a method and system for auto-focusing of relevant data based on a current calendar entry, wherein the relevant data corresponds to, but is not limited to, an email. The method and system provides a mechanism for linking calendar entries with emails to reduce content that is unrelated to a currently targeted work.
The method and system disclosed herein utilizes the calendar entries to trigger auto-focusing of data to display most relevant data during a meeting or an appointment. The method and system enables a user to browse through the most relevant data at beginning of the meeting, without user intervention.
Thereafter, the method and system sends a notification to the user, when the meeting or the appointment begins. The notification is similar to a background notification such as, but not limited to, a notification for a new email. In response to display of the notification, the user either continues a current work or clicks on the background notification to perform a corresponding action. The background notification provides options to the user for enabling content filtering for some buckets. Here, the options include selecting a button to auto-focus the content, altering the content grouping buckets that are being applied, discarding auto-focus and executing a current filtering and snoozing the notification. If the user does not select any option and the notification expires, then a default action is performed, wherein the default action depends on preferences of the user or an organization of the user.
The method and system provides a User Interface (UI) for enabling the user to either disable or enable the auto-focusing. Additionally, the method and system provides either a new control or utilizes an existing content filter control for the UI. Further, the method and system provides an application in auto-focusing to allow display of an urgent content even if the content does not meet a criterion of auto-focusing.
In an exemplary scenario, Nate performs multiple email conversations with Dave@CustomerA.com. Nate's mail store includes an analytics engine that effectively categorizes all emails as Company A by detecting recipients from an email id
*@companyA.com. Similarly, email conversations with Jane@CustomerB.com are categorized as Company B. In a scenario, Nate sends separate emails to Meghan with some speaking notes for Customer A and Customer B. The separate emails are not auto-categorized by Nate's analytics engine, but are manually tagged into the buckets by Nate.
