Abstract

Currently, the laptop supports to unlock screen or adjust display brightness by keyboard input, and the touch screen tablet supports to unlock screen and adjust display brightness by touching input, and the new ultrabook supports both ways for the operations. The core idea of our inventions is that we can use the physical angle between the display plane and the keyboard plane to unlock screen or adjust display brightness for the laptop or ultrabook. For unlock screen, user can set a fix angle from 0 degree to 360 degrees between the display plane and the keyboard plane, when user unlock screen, user can rotate the display plane to the angle, and keep the angle for 3 seconds, and then unlock the screen. For adjust display brightness, user can rotate display to make the display brighten or darken, and keep the angle for 3 seconds, and then the brightness is fixed.

But sometimes it is inconvenient to keyboard input or touching input for some disabled people or the users who want to unlock screen or adjust display brightness but cannot use their hands in the same time. And the ultrabook supports both keyboard input and touching input, but it does not have a single solution to unlock screen for users, touching input cannot work for keyboard, and the keyboard input cannot use for the touch screen.

The core idea of our inventions is that we can use the physical angle between the display plane and the keyboard plane to unlock screen or adjust display brightness for the laptop or ultrabook.
