Abstract

A method and system is disclosed for providing a visual recognition application to deliver subtitles to smartphone.  The visual recognition application enables a user to either listen to the audio via the smartphone of the user or read the subtitles on the smartphone of the user.

Description

Typically, users are unable to hear the audio when a television is playing something in a loud environment.  The users are also unable to immediately access the audio or subtitles, but can see the picture.

Disclosed is a method and system for providing a visual recognition application to deliver subtitles to a smartphone.  Alternatively, the visual recognition application can deliver audio to the smartphone.  The visual recognition application enables a user to either listen to the audio via the smartphone or read transcript or the subtitles on the smartphone.  A smartphone with the installed visual recognition application can gain access to content being played such as, but not limited to, a television broadcast or a video.  If the user is interested in the audio of the content being played on a television in a public or loud environment, the visual recognition application can provide access to the content on the smartphone.
