Abstract

With original design, passengers can only judge how crowded the elevator is by indicator for whether elevator cab is full loaded. And passengers can only search and input destination floor inside elevator cab. It will cost several seconds per destination floor. This design informs passengers with "Up/Down Crowding Coefficient" for every elevator cab, so passengers can select less crowded elevator cab in advance. When Crowding Coefficient is larger than certain thresholds, signals can be sent by LED light in front of elevator, or through wifi. This design also adds an additional control panel outside the elevator cab, enabling passengers to input destination floor when they are awaiting the cab’s coming.

Technical problem solved:


1. With original elevator design, passengers can only judge how crowded the elevator is by indicator for whether elevator cab is full loaded. This judgement is not thorough enough.

For example, in rush hour in the evening, passengers are waiting on 10th floor, while a cab is going down on 20th floor, not full loaded. And many passengers are waiting on 11th~19th floor. Passengers on 10th floor can only get informed when the cab is full loaded. This wastes passengers' waiting time.


2. With original elevator design, passengers can only search and input destination floor inside elevator cab. It will cost several seconds per destination floor. In rush hour, passengers are crowded near the cab door awaiting for inputting their destination floors.

Our design solved these 2 problems and saves passengers' time:


1. This design inform passengers with "Up/Down Crowding Coefficient" for every elevator cab, so passengers can select less crowded elevator cab in advance.


2. This design adds an additional control panel outside the elevator cab, enabling passengers to input destination floor when they are awaiting the cab's coming.
