Abstract

We invented a wireless mouse, which can pair with multiple computers via direct bluetooth connections, and control one of the multiple computers at one time. More importantly, we can switch the mouse's control from one computer to another seamlessly. Advantages: (1) Easy to use. The mouse can pair with multiple computers with bluetooth connections but no need to do a mass of complex configurations, which is fast and convenient. (2) Easy to scale. Because there is no need to connect multiple computers through network, it's easy to add more computers in, and remove some out. (3) Cost efficient. Use one mouse to control multiple computers, which is cool and cost efficient.

A wireless mouse that control multiple computers

Nowadays, more and more people own more than one computers and use them at the same time. In this case, to enable convenient operations, people must prepare different mouses for different computers which is cost inefficient; or else they should plug out the mouse and plug it into another computer frequently, which is so inconvenient. To avoid this embarrassing situation, we proposed a wireless mouse which can connect to multiple computers and switch control seamlessly among multiple computers.

A know solution is "Synergy". "Synergy" is an open sourced software which can enable one mouse controlling multiple computers. Unfortunately, the deployment of this software is very complicated. Firstly, the multiple computers should be connected in a LAN; secondly, the software works under a Server/Client mode, which means we should set one computer as the Server, and other computers as Clients. The mouse is actually only connected to the Server, and mouse signals was transferred to the Client computers from the Server. So we should set up the software on all the computers and do configuration jobs which is quite complex for users.

Advantages:

(1) Easy to use. The mouse can pair with multiple computers with bluetooth connections but no need to do a mass of complex configurations , which is fast and convenient.

(2) Easy to scale. Because there is no need to connect multiple computers through network, it's easy to add more computers in, and remove some out.

(3) Cost efficient. Use one mouse to control multiple computers, which is cool and cost efficient.

A wireless mouse that can connect to multiple devices via Bluetooth connections, comprising:

A Bluetooth adapter inside, which can pair with 7 Bluetooth device at the same time, but is capable of interacting with only 1 Bluetooth device at a time.

A button at left side, which is used to switch controls to different Bluetooth devices.

A small LCD screen on the top, which is used to display the current Bluetooth device under control.

A program inside that is capable of keeping paring connections to multiple Bluetooth devices, and capable of handling requests of switching interaction to a different Bluetooth device.

(1)The wireless mouse as claimed in (1), wherein has a Bluetooth adapter inside. The Bluetooth adapter can support different versions of Bluetooth protocol: 2.0, 2.1, 3.0 and 4.0. As the limitation of Bluetooth, the wireless mouse can pair with up to 7 Bluetooth devices, and can interact with only 1 Bluetooth devices at a time.
