Some diseases are related to environment and the nature of a user's work. This presents an opportunity to create the concentration of different diseases in a geographic map. This information can help the local administrator to implement corrective action by sharing information, such as through an awareness campaign.

The novel contribution is a method and system for geo-fencing based on symptom or medicine purchase patterns in a community. Based on collected purchasing information, the system identifies a correlation between medicine purchases or symptoms and environmental data. This can provide information to the local health administration and enable corrective action.

To implement the system and method in a preferred embodiment:

1. System gathers medicine purchase data from different pharmacies; accordingly, system identifies every volunteer patient's sharable medicine purchase data

2. While gathering patients' information, the system gathers home location and work location of each patient. In this case, the system uses mobile phone tracking data from the mobile phone service provider. This helps the system identify both the home and work locations of each patient.
