Abstract

A distance protection scheme which is not influenced by power swing is proposed in this disclosure. This distance protection scheme will not mal-operate during power swing, while the operation speed during power swing is improved. And the proposed principle can also be used under the condition that one phase is tripped, i.e. only two phases operation, to detect the faults during power swing. This algorithm is self-adaptive to power swing period and no setting is needed.
