Abstract

For touch faucets, different touch patterns can result in different faucet operation modes. For proximity faucets, the operation will no longer be ON or OFF either. Since the capacitance proximity sensor can sense how close the human hand is to the faucet, we can introduce an operation mode that provides more water flow when the human hand is closer to the faucet.

21. *What is the purpose of your invention?:

To perfect the operation of touch faucets and proximity faucets by providing the end users the real "touch

only" and real "proximity-sensing only" operations.

22. *How does your invention achieve its purpose?:

The perfection of such operations is achieved through different water flow choices under different touch patterns or different proximity range sensing results.

For touch faucets, the touch operation will no longer be the simple touch ON and touch OFF. Different touch patterns can result in different faucet operation mode. For example, one can define an operation mode as follows: first touch means full ON (or 100% water flow), second touch means 70% ON (or 70% water flow), third touch means 30% ON (or 30% water flow), and the fourth touch is OFF.

For proximity faucets, the operation will no longer be ON or OFF either. Since the capacitance proximity sensor can sense how close the human hand is to the faucet, we can introduce an operation mode that provides more water flow when the human hand is closer to the faucet, and less water flow when the human hand is further away from the faucet. Or other fancy water flow features based on the proximity sensing results.
