Abstract

Present disclosure relates to design and develop the automatic throttle control system in order to generate the fuel efficient and quality power in terms of frequency and voltage. Vehicles are equipped with mechanical governor. These governors are having the governor regulation which causes the speed droop in engine, when load is applied to engine. This speed droop is not desirable in case of generator operation because the generator requires the constant engine speed at variable loads in order to maintain the rated speed of generator shaft. The demand of rated speed of generator is to maintain the rated frequency and rated output voltage of generator. This disclosure propose automatic throttle control mechanism which will be able to maintain the rated speed of generator shaft at variable load condition, in order to generate the quality power in terms of frequency and voltage. The self-locking DC motor with pulley was used to operate the throttle link through push pull cable. The selection of DC motor and pulley was done by using the method of highest scoring. The DC motor was controlled with the help of microcontroller. To maintain the recorded engine speed the throttle control system was operated on the mode of closed loop system by taking the continuous input from the engine speed sensor. Other inputs were taken from the clutch and brake sensors. The developed automatic throttle control system for controlling the engine speed is very user friendly and efficient.

Description

This disclosure is about automatic throttle control system for mechanical engine. Due to the governor regulation engine is unable to maintain the constant speed, when the load is applied to it. To maintain the constant engine speed against the governor regulation, automatic throttle control system is used. As shown in fig. 1, it is a microcontroller based closed loop throttle control system. To enable the whole throttle control system, a "system enable button" is given on the cluster panel. The magnetic pick up sensor is used to record the engine speed and this is done with help of recording button which is given on cluster panel of tractor. When this button is pressed for few seconds then the current engine speed is get recorded in the microcontroller. After recording the engine speed pull back the throttle lever to idle speed position.
