Retail Dynamic Purchase Rules for Collaborative Shopping

Online shopping (electronic commerce) presents some interesting opportunities for collaborative shopping between two or more individuals or business entities, etc. Existing solutions have been devised to facilitate collaborative shopping across multiple shopping channels, but there is a need for better ways to collaborate when it comes to making purchase decisions. Family units are often comprised of multiple online shoppers who buy goods at different times and from different online suppliers, and there are times when improved decision support systems for electronic commerce can result in smarter purchase decisions and fewer purchase returns and reduced waste of buyer resources such as time and money.

    What is discussed is a means of enabling smarter electronic commerce through the use of an online shopping decision support system used by family units (or departments within a company, etc.) to make better purchase decisions.

Key features:
1. Ability to establish connections between multiple online user accounts used for making electronic purchases.

2. Ability to define purchase decision rules and approval states across connected user accounts.

3. Ability to block purchases of goods already purchased, or goods purchased from a black-listed supplier, or goods purchased at too high a price, or purchased without a discount code, etc.

Additional features:
1. Hierarchical structure with regular and limited, etc., account types, where the subordinate accounts have restrictions (e.g., purchase quotas, or restricted shopping hours and/or online sites, approval required, etc.)
