Often credit cards and or just the credit card information are stolen and used at a distance from the owner.

This costs millions of dollars each year to the credit card companies, and can result in losses for the individuals as well. It is at least a difficultly due to having to reissue the cards with new numbers. Accordingly there is a need to match the identity and location of the owner of the card to the location being used to prevent the fraud before the transaction is approved.

One known solution matches the card owner identify information, such as person image, against real time image of the person using the card, requiring high resolution camera at POS (Point Of Sale). In addition, Photographs have been on Credit Cards for a while, but they are not always validated. Furthermore, credit Cards have the ask for ID written on the back instead of a signature still are processed without ID required.

An automated intelligent mechanism is desired to identify and confirm the identify of the owner of the credit card and the person that is using the card in a highly secure and more heuristic way. For example, a card is being used in a distance location for a transaction to get approval for this transaction. Proposed is a way to identify that the card user and the card owner are physically located in the same proximity. If the criteria do not match based on the policy, then the transaction is not approved. The credit card company would be notified from the incident and a warning is sent to the owner of the card.
