Abstract

A method and system for organizing and displaying time sensitive advertisements in a calendar is disclosed.  The method and system selects user targeted time sensitive advertisements and displays the advertisements in the calendar in form of colored lines.

Description

Disclosed is a method and system for organizing and displaying time sensitive advertisements in a calendar.  The method and system utilizes free space in the calendar to display the time sensitive advertisements.  Here, the advertisements are displayed both on a web calendar and a calendar in a mobile phone.  Initially, the method and system selects targeted advertisements for a user based on personal information of the user.  Here, the personal information of the user includes, but is not limited to, age, gender, geo location, country of origin and email content.  Thereafter, the time sensitive advertisements are identified from the targeted advertisements.  The time sensitive advertisements are identified based on a date, specific words, such as, but not limited to, expiring, ending, starting and final.  In a scenario, initially the time sensitive advertisements are identified and then targeted advertisements are selected from the time sensitive advertisements.

The targeted time sensitive advertisements are displayed in a non-intrusive manner in the calendar of the user.  Here, the time sensitive advertisements are summed up in form of a colored line and are displayed only in a weekly and a daily view of the calendar.  Here, thickness of the colored line corresponds to time in minutes, such as, 5 minutes in the calendar.  For example, if a 10% discount on all Televisions (TV) from a TV company is the only advertisement for Wednesday, then, a line of light blue color is displayed in the calendar.  When the user moves a cursor over the line, a short message is displayed, wherein the short message displays available discount on all TVs.  If offers related to two advertisements end on a same day, then the line is divided in half, wherein, color of the first half is pink and the second half is yellow.  Thereafter, depending on a position of the cursor, the short message is displayed for a particular advertisement.  In case of the calendar in the mobile phone,...
