Abstract

1. ABSTRACT The invention is directed to a seat unit with a combination of a passenger seat with a flight attendant seat (also named as cabin attendant seat: CAS). It can be used in a vehicle, especially in an aircraft. Current flight attendant seats are fixed to the aircraft structure as standalone part to the floor or mounted to a monument wall. Also the passenger seats are installed as stand-alone seats or double seats or seat rows. Passenger seats are fixed to seat rails in the aircraft floor. The technical solution provides a combination of the passenger seat with the flight attendant seat in one monument and generates a lighter, slimmer and easier monument. Due to the smaller design of the seat combination the passenger cabin could be designed in a more effective layout. More space is available. The benefit for the airline could be an increase of passenger seats.

1. ABSTRACT

2. DISCLOSURE

In the prior art the passenger seat and the CAS need each one set of fixations. Each part needs to have its own structure. The CAS is only used during taxiing, take-off and landing and also in case of turbulences by the cabin attendants. This is only a short period during the flight, hence it would be good if the seat could be removed or moved out of sight after this period. But this is currently not possible.

The technical solution provides a combination of the passenger seat with the CAS in one monument. The CAS is integrated in the backrest of the passenger seat and have a foldable or movable (sliding) or rotatable seat pan. Only in the short period during the taxiing, take-off and landing the seat pan is visible and could be used.

The combination would be smaller and lighter and slimmer in design as before. Due to smaller design the cabin could be designed in a more effecter layout.
