A method and system for pushing advertisements (Ads) based on visual recognition of one or more items during a video call.  The one or more items may be recognized using a camera that is used in the video call and contextual advertisements related to the one or more items is presented to a user.

Disclosed is method and system for pushing advertisements (Ads) based on visual recognition of one or more items during a video call.  The one or more items may be recognized using a camera that is used in the video call and contextual advertisements related to the one or more items is presented to a user.

The figure below illustrates recognition of one or more items during a video call between two users in accordance with the method and system disclosed herein.

During a video call one or more items in background of a user attending the video call are recognized.  The one or more items may be recognized using an image capturing device that is used in the video call.  Based on the recognition of one or more items, a set of images/patterns may be identified for each video call.  For example, if an apple or a bottle of beer or a toothbrush is identified in background, then data relating to the identified items is stored.  The data may be stored as an image with multiple states with a particular syntax.  For example, the syntax may be Item_picture, state1, state2.  Additionally, time and location is also stored along with state data. The time and location along with state data may be:  

{Item_picture}, {State 1}, {State 2}, {Location }, {Time}.

The data regarding the items is used to generate a set of images/patterns for a particular video call.  The set of images/patterns are displayed in an Ad exchange.  Thereafter, an advertiser may bid for the set of images/patterns.  Advertisements associated with the advert...
