Abstract

A method and system for identifying a Uniform Resource Locator (URL) of a website based on image recognition is disclosed. The method and system disclosed herein allows a user to capture an image of a website and upload the image of the website to a server. The server includes mappings for one or more images to one or more URL’s of corresponding websites. Further, when the server receives the image uploaded by the user, the image is then mapped to a URL based on image recognition techniques. The server then returns the URL which is mapped with the image uploaded by the user.

Abstract

The method and system disclosed herein allows a user to capture an image of a website and upload the image of the website to a server.  The server includes mappings for one or more images to one or more URL’s of corresponding websites. Further, when the server receives the image uploaded by the user, the image is then mapped to a URL based on image recognition techniques.  The server then returns the URL which is mapped with the image uploaded by the user.

Disclosed is a method and system for identifying a Uniform Resource Locator (URL) of a website based on image recognition.  The method and system disclosed herein allows a user to capture an image of a website and upload the image to a server.  The server stores mappings for one or more images to one or more URLs of corresponding websites. Further, when the server receives the image uploaded by the user, the image is mapped to a URL based on image recognition techniques.  The server then returns the URL which is mapped with the image uploaded by the user.  As a result, the user can access the website by using the URL returned by the server.

In one embodiment, the method and system disclosed creates a crawler to record one or more websites in a database.  Subsequently, one or more images uploaded by the user are mapped to the URLs of the corresponding websites by the server.  In an instance, a user may also add one or more popular websites to the server.
