Abstract

A method and system is disclosed for scanning one or more QR codes in a single scan. The method and system utilizes a camera of a mobile device to capture the one or more QR codes of original data as a single picture. After capturing the one or more QR codes, the method and system scans the single picture and splits the single picture into one or more smaller pictures containing one or more QR codes. Thereafter, the method and system, extracts one or more fragments from the one or more QR codes of the one or more smaller pictures and merges the one or more fragments extracted back to the original data.

Method and System for Scanning Multiple QR Codes

Description

Disclosed is a method and system for scanning one or more QR codes in a single scan.

The method and system splits original data into one or more data fragments. The size of the one or more data fragments is smaller than the size of one or more data fragments that a QR code can carry.  In addition to spitting the original data to the one or more data fragments, the method and system includes a special QR code containing header information of the original data.  The header information contains summary information about the original data such as, but not limited to, a number of data fragments of the original data, total size of the original data and hash information about the original data.

Fig. 1 illustrates generation of one or more QR codes from the original data in accordance with the method and system disclosed herein.

The method and system generates the one or more QR codes from the one or more data fragments of the original data and arranges the one or more QR codes in an appropriate order.
