Abstract

A method for recommending digital content to a group of users based on information mined from one or more sources is disclosed. The information may comprise of information relating to offline consumption of one or more digital content by each user of the group. In an instance, the method may recommend a movie to a group of users based on mining movies watched offline by each user of the group. The recommendation may also be based on other information such as another movie that the user likes on a social networking site. Further, the recommendation may be generated by a collaboration algorithm based on the information relating to offline consumption with the other information mined from the one or more sources. The movie recommended by the collaboration algorithm may be liked in general by the group.

Description

A method for recommending digital content to a group of users based on information gathered from mining one or more sources of information.  The information may comprise of information relating to offline consumption of one or more digital content by a user in the group and other information gathered from the one or more sources.  Additionally, the information may be mined from one or more sources such as, but not limited to, one or more of email accounts, discussion forums and social networking sites.  The one or more digital content consumed offline may be, but is not limited to a multimedia, a video, and an audio.  The digital content recommended may be, but is not limited to a multimedia, a video, and an audio.

In one embodiment, a collaboration algorithm may be used for recommending the digital content based on the information gathered from the one or more sources.  In an instance, the digital content recommended to the group of users maybe a movie.  Further, the one or more digital content consumed offline may be one or more movies watched offline by the user in the group.  Additionally, the information relating to the offline consumption may comprise of receipts for the one or more movies.  Further the receipts may be comprised in at least one source of the one or more sources.  For example, the...
