Method of Dynamically Grouping Emails in an Inbox and Moving the Grouped Emails to a Folder

Abstract

A method of dynamically grouping emails in an inbox and moving the grouped emails to a folder is disclosed.  The method allows users to keep the inbox organized and reduces clutters in the inbox.  The grouped emails from the inbox are stored efficiently in archived folders.  A manual intervention of the user to create rules or filters is not required for grouping emails and moving the grouped emails to the folder.

Description

Typically, a group of emails from an inbox may be moved to a folder manually by a user or based on user-defined rules or filter creation by the user.

Disclosed is a method of dynamically grouping emails in an inbox and moving the grouped emails to a folder.  Rules or filters for emails in the inbox are generated dynamically based on number of emails in the inbox and based on specific parameters such as, but not limited to email address, time interval and subject of emails.  Thus a manual intervention of a user to create the rules or the filters is not required.  For example, if a user is receiving 10 emails per day from a news blog site, the emails from the news blog site are moved to a folder named “News Blog” from the inbox based on number of emails from news blog site in the inbox.  Here, the user need not manually create a rule to move the emails of the news blog site to the “News Blog” folder.
