Disclosed is a method and system for applying the results of human emotion detection and interpretation to automatically rate a content in real time while the content is being consumed by a user. Examples of the content include, but need not be limited to, documents, pages, multimedia, an audio, a video and photographs.

In an embodiment, the method and system translates or maps an emotion into a graded level of feedback for one of, likeness, acceptance, approval and agreement. The graded level of feedback is derived to rate the content . The content can be rated by one of, but not limited to, assigning stars ranging from 1- 5 and providing like or dislike buttons.

The figure below illustrates the steps performed for automatically rating the content in accordance with an embodiment of the method disclosed herein .

As illustrated, the method firstly identifies an application being accessed by a user and detects that the user has started to consume the content . Thereafter, the current emotional state of the user is analyzed and captured in real -time while the user consumes the content. In the next step, the average emotional response of the user is determined. Thereafter, the response is translated according to a rating scheme and the rating is applied to the media.
