In the process of setting up network configurations in a laboratory or facility, cables need to be moved from point A to point B, leaving the connector tab mechanism vulnerable to breakage.

A method is needed to prevent or limit the strain on the tab mechanism to avoid breakage and preserve the integrity of the connector.

The solution is to add an external, small, elongated, elliptical-shaped hinged enclosure that is clamped onto the connector end of the cable. This protects the connector during movement. A loop on the hinged enclosure facilitates the attachment of a small string or rope for pulling the cable to the destination.
