Abstract

Nowadays the software systems are becoming more and more complex. Sometimes the computer end users may want their keyboard and mouse operations can be performed on multiple GUI interfaces concurrently. This article shows a framework that can help the end users to append software(s) which they want to concurrent control in multiple. The end users can configure the UI instance details on the initial stage, and then they can perform operation on the running instances concurrently. They can also operate on one specific UI instance only.

A system for multiple UI concurrent control

Sometimes the computer end-users may have the following one of their special requirements for UI. Theywant their keyboard/mouse operations can be performed on multiple GUI interfaces concurrently. For example, one of the common usages, a software product tester has several servers need to install a product test build, and almost all of the configurations for product on servers a same, only tiny difference. So it will be a great convenience, if the tester can do his GUI operation of install at only one time and can apply on all servers.

There is a system existed, can perform the similar function. This system allows users perform their UI operations on multiple desktops concurrently and the desktops' resolutions are regardless. (Figure 1)

1. It leaks of an overall view for desktops. The end user (a human) can only focus on one desktop as a time, for example, one of the desktops failed its operation, there is no way to alert user know that on time.

2. It is a OS UI based system (tool), so there is a potential limitation for this system, the desktop layout and setting should be same, or it may cause error.

3. Do not have a way to perform some operations on one single node temporarily.

For our invention, we provide a framework, and on this framework users can append software(s) which they want to concurrent control in

This system can solve the problem in some degree. But:
