The invention discusses a novel POSS/polymer nanocomposite formulation reinforced with fibers (eg - Kevlar). DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION(S)

   

The invention discusses 1. a novel nanoparticle/polymer nanocomposite formulation enhanced with reinforcing fiber 2. The reinforcing agent can be kevlar, glass, carbon - fiber, etc. 3. The nanoparticle-polymer/fiber blend creates a unique network structure that gives the formulation higher thermal stability (tg > 600F) as well as mechanical strength, specially compressive strength. 4. The enhanced system can be used in constructing high strength tubular and tools consisting of composites, etc. 5. The tubular and tools will have enhanced bust resistance, collapse resistance and tensile properties. 6. This will substantially enhance the efficiency and performance of the designed tools compared to the conventional standards. 7. One can also envision, a tool construct with lesser material, eg a thinner tubular which will have the same strength compared to a previously used thicker tubular. 8.
